In a world of massive drops and DJ sets with the same records, it’s nice to hear Christopher Lawrence’s latest podcast that delivers an old school style that carefully crafts builds while maintaining a harder edge. The mix comes straight from his Buenos Aires hotel room as he prepares for UMF. The mix has a number of great, new tracks, including a new track by Markus Shulz and Dennis Sheperd called “Go!” Don’t forget about the guest set by Jordan Stevens. He’s cultivated a serious following thanks to his ability to read the dance floor every time he gets on the decks. Download the full podcast to prepare you for your undoubtedly long Friday night.

Zeds Dead are a Canadian dubstep duo composed of DC and Hooks. Those who know Zeds Dead sing their praises and if you see them when they play EDC Las Vegas on Saturday, we’re sure you will too. Their heavy-bass, hip-hop tinged beats make crowds swell and go absolutely nuts. They’ve released a number of singles on both Mad Decent and Dim Mak Records that we highly suggest you take a listen to, including “In The Beginning” (below). You can also check out their guest mix for BBC 1Xtra’s MistaJam if you need any more convincing. Trust us and make sure you see their set.

Just came across this article in the New York Post. Afrojack talking about Paris Hilton’s musical prowess – at least we think.

“”She may not be a Celine Dion, but she knows how to perform.”

“She loves the dance music so we made some nice music. And it was fun.”

“We are really good friends. It’s simple.”

“She’s like one of the most talented performers I know.”

We think if you add the time honored fortune cookie trick — “…in bed!” to these quotes you’ll get closer to the truth…

Happy Friday!
