Swedish Prog House star Avicii recently embarked on the largest single collaboration ever. He decided to create a song with the help of his fans and, 4,199 submissions later, “X You” was born. Submissions were taken for each respective part of the song from the bass line to the melody to the drums. Eventually it all came together with the help of music producers from over 140 countries including France, Spain, and, of course, Sweden. The end result is clearly an Avicii track, but has elements that fall somewhat outside of his normal sound palette. It’s an incredibly creative idea that gave bedroom producers across the world an opportunity for some great exposure.
