Ford and the Movement Electronic Music Festival have had a working relationship beginning when the festival was still in its infancy. The Sounds of Fusion project bears the latest fruits of that relationship.
Movement orgnanizers, Paxahau curated the project enlisting three Detroit-area Techno artists, Joshua Harrison, Keith Kemp and Tom Newman. The producers composed original tracks using the sounds from the 2013 Ford Fusion. They recorded everything from doors slamming to the soft back-and-forth of the windshield wipers. Along with a sound bank of Fusion chimes and tones, and their own creativity, each artist composed an original song featuring Fusion as an instrument.
Check out the three tracks here for free download along with the behind the scenes video above documenting the artists’ creative process from collecting the sounds of a prototype Fusion at Ford’s Technical Center to cutting the tracks in-studio.
