After two hugely successful runs in LA, BPM brought its BPMp3 Battle to the bay area for the first time this past week. For those that don’t know, the BPMp3 Battle is a competition between the city’s top promoters, retail brands, record labels and DJs. Each crew faces off, armed with only a trusty mp3 player and a killer playlist trying to win over the crowd until only one team is left standing.
Hosted by Fools Gold artist, Trackademics, crews this time included VINTAGE 415, SHOTWELL, BLOWFISH, GREEN GORILLA LOUNGE, DESIGNER DJS, OM RECORDS, OPULENT TEMPLE, LIGHTS DOWN LOW and SOLID BUMP RECORDS.
After fierce battles including the Lucha Libra masked Lights Down Low and bongo drum toting Blowfish, the ultimate winner turned out to be the crew representing boutique vintage clothing store, Shotwell. Be sure to check out their store next time you’re in SF or visit them online at www.shotwellsf.com.
